Directions to Stanford Lake Lodge

Travelling from JHB/PTA on the N1, take Tzaneen by-pass road before Polokwane (ex Pietersburg). Turn LEFT into the R71 - this road doubles back over the highway. Keep on R71 to Tzaneen. Approximately 52 kms from Polokwane to Haenertsburg. Keep STRAIGHT as you enter the village of Haenertsburg. At first STOP street (with garage and Café on your RIGHT) - travel STRAIGHT for 5,2 kms where you will turn RIGHT into A21 Stanford Farm entrance which also. The school is on the opposite side.

Kruger National Park Central Gates

• Orpen Entrance Gate

  • From Stanford Lake Lodge turn right onto the R71 and head for Tzaneen
  • Turn right at T junction (R36/R71)
  • Use the left lane to take the R71 ramp to Phalaborwa
  • Continue onto Gravelotte
  • Continue onto R526
  • Turn right at the T junction onto the R40 towards Hoedspruit.
  • After Hoedspruit turn left at the T junction to stay on R40
  • After 2km turn left again to Orpen Gate
  • Allow just over 2 hours for the trip

Kruger National Park Northern Gates

• Phalaborwa Entrance Gate

  • From Stanford Lake Lodge turn right onto the R71 and head for Tzaneen
  • Turn right at T junction (R36/R71)
  • Use the left lane to take the R71 ramp to Phalaborwa
  • Continue onto Gravelotte
  • Turn left at Gravelotte continue on the R71 to Phalaborwa Gate
  • Allow about One and a half hours for the trip

• Punda Maria Entrance Gate

  • From Stanford Lake Lodge turn right onto the R71 and head for Tzaneen
  • Turn left at T junction onto the R36 towards Modjadjiskloof
  • Turn right after Modjadjiskloof towards Giyani
  • Turn right at the T Junction onto the R81 towards Giyani
  • Turn right onto R524
  • Continue onto H13-1
  • That will take you to the Punda Maria Entrance Gate, approximately a Two and a half hour drive
